Jump to: navigation, search

This script will create a "marquee" scrolling effect on text.

Element Used: Code Block.

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE> MARQUEE - Basic Example </TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY BGCOLOR="white" TEXT="black">
<MARQUEE>
"Welcome to our new website!"
</MARQUEE>
</BODY>
</HTML>

Alternatives to script above:

Additional Options: Manage scrolling speed, scrolling direction, size (width and height), text color, text size, and the ability to stop scrolling when the mouse passes over it.

<MARQUEE style="WIDTH: 365px; HEIGHT: 15px" onmouseout="this.start();" onmouseover="this.stop();" direction=left height=15 width=365 scrollAmount=3>
<P align=center><FONT color=#3D849E size=5>Enter your text here.</FONT></P></MARQUEE>

Another alternative to the script above - horizontal and vertical scrolling, stop scrolling on mouseover or start scrolling on mouseover.:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE> MARQUEE - Basic Example </TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY BGCOLOR="white" TEXT="black">
<!-- Text below scrolls vertically with text color and only scrolls when mouse cursor hovers over it -->
<MARQUEE width=150 onmouseover=this.start(); onmouseout=this.stop(); scrollAmount=1 hspace=5 scrollDelay=30 direction=up height=95 style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px;
padding-left: 4px; padding-right: 4px; padding-top: 1px; padding-bottom: 1px" bgcolor="#ffffff">
<FONT color=#3D849E size=2>Welcome to openElement</FONT></MARQUEE>
<!-- Below scrolls horizontally and stops when mouse cursor hovers over it -->
<MARQUEE style="WIDTH: 365px; HEIGHT: 15px" onmouseout="this.start();" onmouseover="this.stop();" direction=left height=15 width=365 scrollAmount=3 align=center>
<FONT color=#3D849E size=2>Welcome to openElement</FONT></MARQUEE>
</BODY>
</HTML>
